Where Natural Medicine Meets Modern Pediatrics

At Pure Pediatrics & Wellness, we redefine pediatric healthcare—Where Natural Medicine Meets Modern Pediatrics. Our highly skilled, compassionate Pediatric Nurse Practitioners blend evidence-based integrative and functional medicine with conventional pediatrics to create personalized care plans that honor each child’s unique health journey.

We believe every child is uniquely and wonderfully made, and our care reflects that belief. With longer appointment times and a limited patient panel, we take the time to listen, understand, and partner with families to provide comprehensive pediatric health and wellness care.

With Pure Pediatrics & Wellness, healthcare becomes a partnership—one that prioritizes your child’s wellness and empowers you to confidently guide their health journey.

Our Philosophy

Pure Pediatrics & Wellness provides pediatrics healthcare with an integrative approach. Pediatric health and wellness is the main focus of our practice. Your child’s health is our priority. We are passionate about improving pediatric healthcare and promoting the futures one child at a time.

We believe that each child is uniquely and wonderfully made! We take the time to get to know our patients, create tailored to individual and family needs, and provide the highest level of communication and education – we make it a priority that you, as our patient, understand every last detail. Our goal is to provide information so that families can make the best healthcare decisions empowering them to thrive to their fullest potential.

Pure Pediatrics and Wellness limits the number of patients in the practice in order for the provider to devote time to meet your needs of your family. Appointments are tailored to your needs. Patients are given longer appointment times with the provider who will take the time to listen, understand, and work with the needs and goals of your family.

Practicing medicine in a God-honoring, patient-centered way is the culture at Pure Pediatrics & Wellness. We strive to serve God and our neighbor with the best we have to offer. As a patient of our practice, you can expect to receive individualized care, and to know your health is important to us. We want every member of the communities we serve to enjoy a happier, healthier life.

Keeping children healthy and partnering with families is what we are called to do!

Founder | Director | Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

KATIE ANNE MACDONALD, CPNP-PC

I am Katie Anne… but you can call me Katie! I am a certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, entrepreneur, and founder of Pure Pediatrics & Wellness with a passion for family centered care and health education. I have an extensive background in healthcare, pediatrics, and pediatric emergency medicine. I am certified by the PNCB and is a licensed Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia .

It has been a long-time desire of mine to provide pediatric primary care and wellness consultation. I saw there was a desperate need for comprehensive, accessible, and integrative primary care. It was out of this desire that I founded Pure Pediatrics & Wellness in February 2021. I am excited to be able to offer this service to families in my community. My mission is to partner with families and to support optimal health and wellness in the safety and comfort of home.

Seeing a new parent feel confident in their decisions, being able to help a family rest, and simply being able to put minds at ease with quick answers via text - all of this is so rewarding. The truly personal and unique relationships I develop with families make it feel less like treating patients, and more like helping out a friend.

I currently reside in Lucketts, Virginia with my husband, Jonathan, three daughters Adelynn Mae, Genevieve Kate, and Lexi Jolee, a dog, and two cats.

When not serving families in the community, I enjoy going on adventures with my family, being outdoors, and being involved at my local church.

Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

CHELSEA ABRIGO, CPNP-PC

Hi, I’m Chelsea! I’m a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, and I’m passionate about caring for children and supporting their families. I’m licensed in Virginia, West Virginia, and Vermont (Telehealth), so I’m able to care for families in all three states.

I have dual Bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Neuroscience from Christopher Newport University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from George Mason University, and a Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Austin. I’m certified by the PNCB and love combining my clinical expertise with a compassionate, holistic approach to help each child thrive physically and emotionally.

As both a healthcare professional and a mom, I’m especially passionate about guiding new parents and supporting children from infancy through adolescence. I like to blend traditional and alternative therapies to promote overall wellness and long-term health for every child I see.

When I’m not seeing patients, you’ll usually find me outdoors—running, exploring, or spending quality time with my husband, our two young daughters, and our golden retriever.

I’m thrilled to be part of Pure Pediatrics & Wellness and can’t wait to build lasting relationships with families while making a positive impact in our community.

Direct Primary Care

Our team of providers is dedicated to building genuine, trusting relationships with every patient. We believe healthcare should be personal, attentive, and focused on what truly matters—your child’s health and well-being. By embracing the Direct Primary Care model, each of our providers can practice medicine the way they intended: with a limited patient panel, allowing for more time, presence, and individualized attention for every family. This approach not only ensures your child receives the care they deserve but also allows our providers to maintain balance in their own lives, so they can bring their best to every patient interaction.
